Vacation IV

PEI continued:
G ran in to show me this shell (and to get away from the jelly fish).

No jelly fish could get him here!

We went to the Bottle Houses at Cap Egmont.  Apparently this is listed as one of the 1001 places to see before you die.  I loved this chapel.

A close-up of the wall.

The seats of the pews were one of the few parts not made of bottles.

(Please ignore the spots on the camera lens.)

Another family shot--the gardens were beautiful.

This picture made me realize why my back hurts--this girl is practically permanently attached to my left hip.
:)

After the Bottle Houses, we stopped for lunch on a beach.  The tide was coming in, but there was still lots of open sand...

...and huge expanses of warm, clear shallows.
Mark artistically arranged the shells and sand dollar he found.

One last family picture.
:)
The drive home was long so G had to find ways to amuse himself.

We had a great trip, but it was nice to be home again!

Vacation III

PEI continued:
A did not love the waves--or maybe she just didn't like me walking away from her to try to take a picture.

G got very frustrated when he couldn't catch the ball with the velcro mitt-thing, but take a look at the next "action" shot!

:)

We found lots of shells to decorate our sand hill.

And G finally got to roast marshmallows--only to (re)discover that he actually doesn't like them.

Although I have many pictures of each of the kids, it prove near impossible to get a good picture of these two together.

I don't mind looking at the camera though.

We drove to East Point Lighthouse.

G looking through an old fog horn.

We also spent a day biking the trails around Cavendish.

A needed her nap and just fell asleep.  This did make biking a bit tricky for me because I wanted to keep her head balanced, so we stopped for lunch and just let her keep sleeping.

While A slept and I made sure the bike didn't fall over, M and G went exploring.

After her nap, A was as happy as--well, as happy as a kid in a hole.

Vacation II

Cape Enrage:

It was too foggy to see anything at Cape Enrage, so we actually just stopped at the beach that was part of the Crown land nature preserve.  It was cold, windy, and rainy, but we could see just enough to know that it must be beautiful on a clear day!

The kids were cold, so we wrapped them up in towels, but apparently this made it very difficult to walk.
:)

After all the sand was cleaned off her face, A still wasn't sure if she was impressed.

Prince Edward Island:

Crossing the Confederation Bridge is a little unnerving--14 kilometers long!

G wasted no time and got to playing on the beach right away at Cavendish.

Looking for shells.

A spectacular sunset.
Sharing a moment.

Pointing out a rainbow.

Swimming in the ocean.

Vacation I

Ottawa/Hull

At the Museum of Civilization, with the Parliament buildings in the background.

Transportation for two.

Another mode of transportation for two.
:)

Bay of Fundy National Park/Alma

The beach at low tide.

The campground had a large salt-water pool for swimming. G was not impressed with the taste!

I know this picture is a bit blurry, but I think it demonstrates how much fun the kids had with our hammock!

Hopewell Rocks:
